CUSTOM ORDER: 4 to 6 weeks

Forged and CNC machined cavity back irons. 72-hour slow annealing. Made in Japan.

Most players prefer forged heads over cast because of the feel and sound at impact. Forged heads have a more consistent grain structure than cast heads. However, the intense heat and pressure of forging leave distortions in the microstructure, even in the finest forged heads. Each billet is heated to 1200°C and hammered into shape with 1000 tons of force. This is similar to how Japanese samurai swords are quenched in water to gain their strength. Air cooling from such a high temperature also causes the grains to shrink, so they never reach their full potential.

To fix this, we re-heat each head to its austenite state and anneal it for 72 hours in straw ash. This extra step creates the dense, premium and smooth feel we are renowned for. We are committed to delivering the highest and purest quality, with unsurpassable craftsmanship.

What makes it different

  • 72-hour straw ash annealing: Each head is re-heated after forging and slowly cooled, which restores the grain structure and gives the smooth, solid "Fujimoto Feel".
  • Forged and CNC machined: Forging gives the feel, and machining brings the head to its final shape and specifications.
  • Cavity back construction: Weight is moved around the perimeter of the head, which makes the club easier to hit than a blade.
  • Japanese SS400 carbon steel: The material is chosen for forged feel and consistency.
  • Nickel underlay satin chrome finish: A clean, non-glare look at address.
  • Made in Japan.
