BB6 Fairway Head

Most fairway woods are built to resist: rigid titanium, a stiff face, a head that refuses to give. The BB6 is built on the opposite premise. Its body is designed to flex under impact and return that energy to the ball.

Progress designs and develops golf club heads in Yoshikawa, Saitama, and the bellows structure is the signature of its BB series. It began with the BB4, and on the BB6 fairway it appears in both the sole and the crown. The dual-bellows design lets the sole and crown take impact load equally. That raises initial ball speed from a light, high-strength Ti 6-4 body. It also limits the loft shift at impact that scatters off-centre strikes from the turf.

Speed alone is easy to build. Speed without spin is not. A tungsten plate at the centre of the sole lowers the centre of gravity by 2mm and deepens it by 4mm, while a carbon crown removes weight from the top of the head. Further tungsten in the toe and heel stabilises the head through impact. The flight is strong and penetrating without ballooning, and the ball gets airborne easily.

The head is also tunable. Progress's Just Meet adjuster in the neck changes loft by ±1° to match the launch and direction you need on a given day. The toe and heel weights adjust centre of gravity distance, which sets how readily the face closes through impact. The sleeve is shared with the BB6 driver, so a driver player can fit the fairway head into the same system.
