Five years in development. A forged iron built to return the face to square.

The KM-700 is the newest model in the Miura lineup, and Katsuhiro Miura spent five years refining it. The head is designed to bring the face back to square at impact. That design depends on Miura's own forging methods and the grinding skill of its craftsmen, who went through many iterations of the head to find the right weight distribution. The goal was an iron that lets golfers of all levels get more out of their game.

What makes it different

• Optimised centre of gravity: The shape and weight distribution on the back of the head set the centre of gravity individually for each iron in the set.
• Built to return to square: The head design helps the face return to square at impact, which benefits every level of golfer.
• More forgiveness: A reworked hosel and heel design moves the centre of gravity toward the toe, by 3mm in the 7-iron. The larger sweet spot gives the iron the kind of playability you would expect from a wood, so off-centre hits fly straighter and farther.
• Toe-cut sole grind: The visible toe-cut grind, with tuned camber and bounce, promotes clean ball-on-face contact from any lie or turf condition.
• Miura's stamp of approval: The red hanko stamp on the back cavity of every iron shows that Miura-san himself signed off on the design. The KM-700 grew out of his mentoring of the next generation of Miura craftsmen, and a suggestion from one of his proteges contributed to the final design.
